What are smart rebels and how do they behave?
Smart rebels follow four key shared values. From our senior leaders to new junior hires, we encourage Redbrainers to understand why they create an incredible company culture.
Smart rebels focus on retailer success
Our success is defined by our customer's success.
We make decisions to solve our retailers' problems...
...not to get the company short term wins, not to respond to a competitor and not to make our lives a little easier.
Our main objective is to make our retailers' marketing teams the superheroes in their own businesses.
By being prepared to do the work that other shopping partners aren't willing to do, we achieve great results for our partners.
In turn, they respect our skills & our relentlessness.
Nobody else constantly runs experiments on their own systems & processes, using their own money, in order to find the 1% performance gains.
Only Redbrain.
Smart rebels are empowered
We are a team of ambitious & energetic people who don’t settle for mediocre results.
We don’t believe in bureaucracy and only have eyes for high performance.
If you need your hand held when going to the bathroom, Redbrain is not the environment for you. We're not here to wipe your arse.
In all areas of the business we trust our people to take extreme ownership and experiment in a fast, agile environment.
We say there's no blame, just responsibility for our own actions, results and failures and also our teams.
Our teams shouldn't be afraid to fail.
We’d rather be focussed on relentless growth and fail occasionally, than ever risk becoming stagnant.
We're radically honest.
As long as initial goals, observed results, eventual learnings & forward actions are communicated without any bullsh*t or finger pointing, that’ll do for us.
Smart rebels seek insights, not consensus
The best ideas will never sound like the best idea to everyone. Don’t seek consensus. Make a plan, commit to it and share the insights.
There are a lot of smart people at Redbrain, but no single person has all the answers.
Nor do we expect them to.
Whilst we believe in extreme ownership, Redbrainers are encouraged to be curious and lean on the team around them for insights.
Our smart rebels are both the student and the teacher.
We enable our colleagues to make better decisions through our scientific mindset of sharing our discoveries from past experiments.
Don't bother voting on ideas or decisions.
We believe consensus creates average ideas, slows us down and performs poorly.
Instead, look at the data, make a decision, put your name on it and move forwards
Always share your learnings to help your teammates move faster in the future.
Redbrain empowers our people. Our people empower one another.
Smart rebels are an open & humble tribe
Our empowerment of people comes with a few conditions...
Be open, take responsibility & don’t be a d*ckhead.
We want our teams to be solutions focussed and we encourage passionate dissenting views...
...so long as they are communicated openly, respectfully and honestly.
We love people with strong opinions that are lightly held.
Those who put their name on their actions and are comfortable with saying “I was wrong”.
Those who fix the problem, rather than sit around complaining about it.
We're all aligned with the mission.
Whether our people work best as lone rangers or do their best work supporting others, everyone at Redbrain is part of the same tribe, working toward a common mission.
We're inclusive, respectful, self-aware and supportive.
If not, we'd rather have a hole than an a*shole.
